GGB’s HSG (High Strength GAR-MAX®) bearings have been specified for use in the folding boom pivots of the new self-propelled sprayers. The fiber reinforced composite, high-strength, self-lubricating agricultural bearings combine the excellent lubricating properties of filled PTFE with the high strength and stability of an oriented glass fiber wound structure, offering many benefits to the application, including:
- High static load capacity
- Excellent resistance to shock, misalignment, chemicals and contamination
- Superior friction and wear properties
GGB’s high performance, metal-backed DX® composite bearings are already being used in current models of the company’s self-propelled sprayers. DX® kingpin bearings and thrust washers have been selected for use in the suspension and steering of the new sprayers based on the previous success of DX® bearings in the company’s current sprayer applications. Specifically developed to operate with marginal lubrication, DX® bearings offer customers numerous advantages, such as:
- Maintenance-free operation
- Low wear rate
- High static and dynamic load capacity
- Seizure resistant
